Nominated by the Barbican as an ECHO Rising Star for the 2021/22 season, Ben Goldscheider has given recitals at major concert halls across Europe including at the Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Pierre Boulez Saal, Elbphilharmonie, Koln Philharmonie and Wigmore Hall amongst others. Ben has performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sakari Oramo and made his BBC Proms concerto debut in 2022 performing the Ethel Smyth Concerto for Horn and Violin with Elena Urioste and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada. Ben has also appeared as soloist with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Aurora Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, English Chamber, Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, Lucerne Symphony, Manchester Camerata, Prague Philharmonia and Sinfonie Orchester Berlin.

Richard Uttley has been recognised for his ‘musical intelligence and pristine facility’ (International Record Review), ‘amazing decisiveness’, and ‘tumultuous performance’ (Ivan Hewett, The Daily Telegraph). He studied at Clare College, Cambridge, graduating with a double first in Music, and then at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Martin Roscoe. He won the British Contemporary Piano Competition in 2006 and the Young Classical Artists Trust auditions in 2011. He has released three solo recital discs to critical acclaim and made numerous chamber recordings. His playing has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC World Service, Classic FM, BBC Two, BBC Four, and Sky Arts.

Live Concerts at Netherby Hall are hosted in conjunction with Absolute Classics, a charity connecting individuals with the world’s finest music.

Cumbria Tourism Award 2024 Winner!

Netherby Hall, near Carlisle, was named the winner of its category at the 2024 Cumbria Tourism Awards on Tuesday, July 2.

As winner of the self-catering accommodation category, Netherby Hall will go forward to represent the county at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in 2025.
