We are thrilled to share some wonderful news from Netherby Hall! For the second consecutive year, we have been named the Self-Catering Accommodation Provider of the Year at the 2025 Cumbria Tourism Awards. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team, and we are incredibly proud to be acknowledged once again for the unique experiences we offer our guests.

Cumbria Tourism Awards 2025 Self Catering Accommodation of the Year Winner - Netherby Hall
Netherby Hall, near Carlisle, was named the Self Catering Accommodation of the Year at the 2025 Cumbria Tourism Awards, for the second year running.

The award was presented during Cumbria Tourism’s 50th anniversary celebration at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. We were honoured to be among the winners across 18 categories, all celebrated for their contributions to Cumbria’s vibrant £4.1 billion visitor economy.

The judges had this to say about Netherby Hall:

“Unusually, Netherby Hall won this same category last year. Their continued development over the last year has been remarkable. They have achieved an outstanding level of quality across all aspects of their business, with an experiential offer which goes far beyond a normal self-catering stay in a less well-known, but very beautiful, part of Cumbria.”

At Netherby Hall, we pride ourselves on offering more than just a place to stay. Our nine luxury self-catering apartments and cottages are nestled within 36 acres of private parkland and gardens in Longtown, near Carlisle. Guests can enhance their visit with bespoke experience packages, including exclusive activities such as horse-drawn carriage rides to the nearby Michelin-star Pentonbridge Inn and guided tours of our historic Grade II* listed mansion.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to invest in enhancing our guest experience. All of our properties now feature upgraded beds for added comfort, and we’ve installed a private hot tub at one of our lodges. We’ve also created a dedicated dog exercise area to further our commitment to being a dog-friendly destination.

Our estate’s beautiful walled garden supplies fresh produce to the Pentonbridge Inn and provides ingredients for our very own house-distilled gin and rum. These partnerships and sustainable practices are part of what makes a stay at Netherby Hall truly special.
